• Government approved first phase of public finances reform. Now the key point is discussion in the Lower Chamber of Parliament. Opposition is against reform while some of coalitions MPs are not fully satisfied and the two independent MPs, Mr. Pohanka and Mr. Melcak, have not decided yet.
• According to Alan Greenspan, former longstanding chairman of Fed, world economy is not going to hold current growth rate. Rapid growth is, according to Greenspan, only onetime adjustment of powers in world of business.
• According to the latest survey of CVVM agency, ODS is currently on top with 35% of votes. Social Democrats would receive 29%, Communists 15.5%, Christian Democrats 9.5% and the Green Party 9%.
• S&P Rating Agency lowered Lithuania’s outlook from “stable” to “negative”. Risks for Lithuania lie in fast growth of domestic demand and volume of loans which could lead to hard landing of domestic economy.
